D.I. finds

These are my finds today at D.I. (Goodwill or Salvation Army). Don't these items look so great?!?! They got my wheels turning and I'm excited for the possibilities... keep posted to find out how I use these!

A little ART time

Start with a couple or few paint colors that you want on your canvas, paint brush (which I liked better NOT to use), and a spray bottle. I told you it was simple.

Blank canvas (I think I bought mine at Michaels with a 40% coupon, of course), added a bunch of paper towels on the bottom to catch the paint drippings.
All you have to do it squirt a little paint on your canvas and spray a little water on it, and presto, ART! It was nice practice and I probably would do it a little different next time I want to do this, but the boys love the graffiti type art for there new graphic bedroom!

Simple, yet AWESOME (according to my six year old). This art is from my most favorite design show, Color Splash. David is amazing, I love him. His art is so fun and I wanted to make something new and exciting for the boy's room. Now to get my husband to hang it up...

Chair Makeover

Before
After

I felt like I was back in Cleveland last month when I stumbled upon a big pile of furniture and trash on the side of the road.  For those of you who don't know how they do it out there, they can throw away anything and everything they want on trash night.  You just put everything by the curb and they will pick it up!  My friends and I had a fun time going trash hunting on various nights and found some pretty good finds!  And this month was just that!!  I had been looking for a chair for the boys' room and even the consignment stores wanted $20 at the least and I wanted a better deal than that.  I knew I would probably be redoing the chair anyways so I wasn't too picky.  I drove past the pile of trash once and was tempted to stop but I didn't until the next day.  It was still there and I decided to stop and maybe go and ask.  When I pulled over I realized that the house was empty and I took that as fair game on the leftovers! I grabbed the chair and took it right home.  And with $5 later, we have a funky green chair that is going to look great in their new room!

My Bedroom

I wanted to post this because this blog is for ALL things creative and this took some creativity to come up with.
This is our master bedroom after a quick fix change.  I wanted to spruce it up just a notch and I found these lovely pillows on sale at Target and Ross and thought they did the trick.  (It did take a bit of convincing myself to do two different patterns!)I also happen to find those grey curtains on sale at Target as well.  I love when that happens!

The  boys room is have a makeover as well... those pictures to come soon.

Clip/Bow Holder

I noticed that Macey's clips were piling up fast and I needed something to hold them so I whipped this out one afternoon.  I think it turned out pretty good, a bit shorter than I wanted, but I can always do another.

I measured both ribbons (pink and green) the same size, lined them up, and sewed the bottom shut and the top wrapped around the ring.  Then I just hot glued the flower right at the top!  Easy...

Diaper Wipe Cases

These have been on my list of things to do for some time. I finally just did it! Don't let them fool you, they took me quite a while to figure out! I found some patterns online for the Huggies cases, but not for the Pampers (which were the only ones I could find) SO I had to wing it. I think I might have figured it out.... after a lot of hot glue burns, bad words, and a huge mess in my kitchen! But all worth it. I think they are sooo fun and cute. I can't decide which one is my fav.

Sling purse

*Don't know why it's sideways...it's right side up on my pictures*

Well anyways, I took a purse making class at a local fabric store here in town and it was sooo FUN! It was hard to pick out three coordinating fabrics to go together, but after about an hour I figured out which ones I wanted. I was very happy about the finished project and I actually finished it while I was there!!! Go me! My mom-in-law was supposed to do the class with me, but Jamie (sis-in-law) filled in at the last minute because Lori couldn't make it. It was a lot of work, but easy to do. I think I might do another one....maybe later.
